This week was pretty exciting. On friday we toured the Dillinger Hutte, a gargantuan steel mill
that brought iron ore through every stage of manufacturing and produced incredibly large and high
quality steel plates. They also are incredibly environmentally conscious.
In the lab, my research has been going well. I electrospun my first samples and SEM'd them, looking for any possible indication of core-shell spinning. there were slight indications that it might have occurred and I will be spending the beginning of next week running tests to quantitatively determine the success of my sample.
